Unemployment rates in the country can be much worse than the official rates, according to the activity and region. According to the job site Catho, 38% of Brazilians surveyed have been unemployed for a year or more. The Survey of Brazilian Professionals, carried out by the company, heard 8,114 people across the country.
On the other hand, there are 324 thousand vacancies available to work in different sectors and hierarchical levels without finding the ideal professional. According to the survey, 68% of respondents said they were not engaged in any paid activity. Within this group, 38% have been unemployed for more than 12 months and 16.2% say they have been unemployed for more than two years.
Among them, almost half (48.3%) were fired from the last company they worked, while 14.3% resigned.
