“THE government corrective measures to lighten your bills (here you can read the first draft), explains the note, will prove insufficient: ad hoc measures are needed to lend a hand to those over 65 in difficulty. First of all, the rapid and drastic reform of the bill structure is necessary, to ensure a more equitable distribution of the general system charges, which today account for up to 50% among the different categories of users, and an expense linked to actual consumption ” .
“With these drastic increases, the note adds, there is also a risk of reset the protection from expensive energy for the most vulnerable users who can take advantage of the social bonus for the discount on electricity and gas bills. Bonus managed directly by the Arera, the Authority for Energy, Networks and the Environment and, starting from this year, will be automatically recognized to those entitled to it, including low to medium income pensioners“.
