The writer triumphs with the novel “Two Lives” with 187 votes
Emanuele Trevi is the winner of the 2021 edition of the Premio Strega. Her book, “Due vite”, published by Neri Pozza, obtained 187 votes, surpassing Donatella Di Pietrantonio with Borgo Sud (Einaudi) who got 135 votes. Third Edith Bruck with The lost bread (The Ship of Theseus) which had 123 votes; fourth Giulia Caminito – The lake water is never sweet (Bompiani), 78 votes, while Andrea Bajani is fifth – The Book of Houses (Feltrinelli) with 66 votes. The seat was chaired by Sandro Veronesi, winner of the last edition with “Il colibrì” (La Nave di Teseo)
Trevi is one of the most appreciated contemporary Italian writers and critics. “Due Vite” evokes the story of two other talented writers, Rocco Carbone and Pia Pera, quickly turning into a novel about friendship where memories and regrets are mixed in an edgy and never irrelevant writing.
