Redondo trusts Sumar’s “transparency”
The Minister of Equality, Ana Redondohas trusted that Sumar will investigate “thoroughly” the accusations of mistreatment against Íñigo Errejón and that the facts are clarified “with total agility and transparency.”
Redondo has pointed out that the current Executive it is a government “deeply committed to equality and deeply feminist from the beginning to the last day” and will “always be with the victims.
Redondo has assured that they know that Sumar has initiated an “in-depth investigation into this issue” and they “fully trust that the facts will be clarified with total agility and with total transparency”, as this is what “citizens demand and we demand everyone,” he said. The victims, the minister explained, “they are what is important” in “a sexist culture like the one in which, unfortunately, we are immersed” and “they are the first thing we have to attend to.”
And he has made a “background reflection” on the fact that it is always said that “machismo is structural and violence against women They are practically everyday “We must be aware of that patriarchal culture in which we are installed and which is difficult to remove,” he added.
For the head of Equality, “we have been installed in this sexist culture for thousands of years, and therefore tAll advances are complex but they have to be firm, from a progressive government, undoubtedly.”
Thus, he said, “machismo does not understand social classes, professions, situations, but is structural” and for this reason, he added: “We all have to fight against this culture that grips us as a democracy and that makes us consider the necessary advances.”
