After several weeks of trending on the internet, Peacemaker has reached its final episode. And in the denouement of the series of HBO Max, James Gunn achieved the unthinkable: uniting Marvel and DC for the collaboration of a cameo that nobody saw coming. Guardians of the Galaxy 3, the filmmaker’s next film, is involved in the story.

About this moment, director James Gunn spoke to Variety about it and explained how this scene involved a collaboration between Marvel and DC.

According to his words, both Jason Momoa (Aquaman) and Ezra Miller (Flash) were happy with the idea of filming for the series.

“In fact, Marvel filmed (Ezra) for us while we were shooting Guardians of the Galaxy 3,” revealed.

So what motivated Marvel to record this scene for a DC and Warner Bros production on HBO Max? According to the director himself, it was a matter of returning a favor. “Marvel owed DC one”he explained.
“Because the Peacemaker team shot Chukwudi (Iwuji)’s screen test for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3″he added.

“And then we recorded Ezra with the production of Guardians of the Galaxy 3,” he said.
