The Spanish women’s tennis team faces this week the Billie Jean King Cup, the tournament of nations that will be held in Malaga starting this Wednesday, with Paula Badosa at the helm. The Catalan, leader of the team captained by Anabel Medina, has not hesitated to turn to those affected by DANA in Valencia during a tournament in which will donate half of the profits generated.
This was announced this Sunday through his X account, with a post that is pure illusion both in sports and in solidarity:
“I really want to represent my country, but without forgetting what is truly important right now. I will donate 50% of my prize money of this tie to the people affected by DANA in Valencia. Much encouragement to all those people See you on Wednesday,” shared the Catalan.
Spain, the host, starts the competition on the same Wednesday with its confrontation against Poland. Badosa, as the team’s No. 1, is expected to face none other than Iga Swiatek.
