Tragic news for Oasis fans. The musician Paul Arthurswho accompanied the British rock group for nine years, announced this Tuesday, April 26, that he suffers from tonsil cancer, for which he will have to temporarily withdraw from the stage to treat his illness.

“I inform you that I will take a break from playing for a while. I have been diagnosed with tonsil cancer, but the good news is that it is treatable and I will start treatment soon”, he wrote “I will keep you informed on how everything goes, I am upset to miss the concerts with Liam and the band”, he added in his ‘Bonehead’ post.

The 56-year-old guitarist wished his fans, before saying goodbye in his message, that they have a good summer and that they enjoy the concerts. “See you soon,” he said.

Arthurs was part of the initial lineup of Oasis in 1991 and iconic albums like “Definitely Maybe” and “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?” Despite having left the group in 1999, for some years he has been part of Liam Gallagher’s support band, so they are great colleagues and friends.
