20% of families, students and teachers took part yesterday in the elections to the school councils of the centers. The percentage may seem lower, but it must be taken into account that only 10% of the families voted in the last process.
Yesterday parents had an incentive to participate: the Lomloe has returned to the councils the decision-making powers that the Lomce had taken from them, once again giving them the ability to approve the fundamental documents of the center (educational project, annual general programming …). The school council of each center is the collegiate body for the participation of all sectors of the educational community.
The centers of the Region of the non-university educational stages held elections throughout the day that summon more than 500,000 voters. They were carried out in all the Infant, Primary, Secondary and Baccalaureate centers and Special Regime Teachings. Elections for the partial renewal of school council members were postponed last year due to the pandemic.
