The members of the first line-up of the girl band “VIA Gra” were forbidden to communicate with fans, as well as to walk in sneakers and drink alcohol in public places. This is described in the first part of the special project “Lenta.ru” about Russian pop music of the 2000s.
It is noted that the producers were afraid of the singers’ accidental pregnancy, they saw this as the main threat to the work of the collective, because of which the girls could not be alone with the fans behind the scenes and accept gifts from them.
For the sake of maintaining the image, the artists were also forbidden to appear in public in ugly clothes, which is why the members of VIA Gra were forbidden, for example, to walk in sneakers.
The VIA Gra group was formed in 2000 in Kiev, Ukraine. The producer of the collective was Konstantin Meladze. Artists Alena Vinnitskaya and Nadezhda Granovskaya performed in the original composition of VIA Gra, later they were joined by Tatyana Naynik and Anna Sedokova. Subsequently, the composition has changed several times.
