Parliament Vice President Antti Rinne nominates Mayor of Lohja: “Very interesting task”

Rinne emphasizes that he has not made a decision to abandon national politics.

Parliamentary Vice-President, former Prime Minister Antti Rinne (sd) applies for mayor of Lohja. Länsi-Uusimaa magazine said on Monday that 15 people applied for the position, of whom Rinne is clearly the most famous.

“The consultant contacted me and asked to apply. This is a very interesting task, and after consideration, I ended up applying, ”Rinne tells HS.

He emphasizes that he has not yet made a decision on leaving national politics or, for example, next year’s parliamentary elections.

“I just thought I’d put the papers in when the request came. After all, it is by no means certain that I will be elected. ”

Slope is a second-term MP from Uusimaa. He served as prime minister for about six months in 2019.

In the January regional elections, Rinne was elected to the Central Uusimaa Regional Council. He received 499 votes and ranked eighth on the SDP list.

Rinne, who has lived in Mäntsälä for a long time, says that Lohja is not a stranger to him either. His father served as mayor of Lohja for a long time, and Rinne himself once lived there.
