The latest decision by the municipality of Paris has sparked a real uproar among motorists. In fact, the municipality, following the examples of other French cities such as Grenoble, Lille and Montpellier, has since this morning lowered the speed limit on most roads from the usual 50 kilometers per hour to 30 km / h. The measure approved in agreement with the prefecture, as explained by the environmental councilor for transport, David Belliard, aims to improve road safety and reduce noise and air pollution.
Until now, the speed limit of 30 km / h has been imposed on 60% of the streets of Paris but has now been extended to all city streets except for some areas such as the boulevard des Maréchaux, the Lungosenna and the districts of Boulogne and Vincennes. . Large artisans are also exempt from the provision such as the Champs-Elysées, avenue Foch, rue Royale and the ring road around the French capital, where the limit is 70 km / h.
