An 18-year-old student in the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis died after being beaten with a baseball bat near his high school on Wednesday morning. A 14-year-old from Saint-Denis died several hours later after being stabbed in a metro station. The exact circumstances of the two incidents are still under investigation, as is a possible link between the two events.
