In fact, on August 6, President Gustavo Petro handed over the national flag to the athletes who will represent Colombia in a ceremony. In addition, Paula Ossa and Carlos Daniel Serrano were chosen as the banners for Paris 2024.
According to the Colombian Paralympic Committee, “Paula Ossa is a Elite track and road cyclist who has demonstrated an upward trajectory on the international scene and Carlos Daniel Serrano is already a reference for the paralympic swimming.Multi-medalist in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.”
Both athletes said they felt very honoured to be the flag bearers at the opening ceremony of the Games.
“It was a big surprise for me. I really feel very honoured and proud to be the flag bearer representing all the Paralympic athletes on our way to Paris 2024,” said Paula Ossa.
And Carlos Daniel Serrano said: “I feel happy, proud, grateful to God for my work, for all this effort, the first time I am going to be the flag bearer at the Paralympic Games. I feel, you could say, very happy, it is a great pride to represent all of Colombia and carry the flag for sport.”
Starting this Sunday, August 11, athletes will begin traveling to Paris, divided by sport.
“The tricolor delegation is preparing to shine in Paris 2024, reaffirming its position as an emerging power in the world paralympic sport. The final stretch of the games is approaching and the entire country is uniting in support of these ImPARAbles,” said the CPC.

This is how the trips are scheduled, according to the CPC
Sunday, August 11 at 11:55 p.m. will travel athletes in the following sports: Para athletics, Para swimming, Para powerlifting and Para cycling.
On Thursday, August 15 at 11:55 p.m. the Blind Football team will depart and on Wednesday, August 21 at 11:55 p.m. the Archery, Boccia, Wheelchair Tennis, Para Triathlon and Parasport Shooting athletes will travel.
