Paris 2024 Olympics: Italy’s medals live | August 8, 2024
Italy has won 30 medals so far at the Paris Olympics 2024: ten golds, eleven silvers and nine bronzes. Today, Friday 9 August, the day opened with Domenico Acerenza and Gregorio Paltrinieri respectively fourth and ninth in the 10km long distance swimming in the waters of the Seine (the gold went to the Hungarian Kristóf Rasovszky).
There is great bitterness for the result of the two Italians, who for long stretches of the race led in the first three places. Paltrinieri had to give up a little in the final probably due to tiredness, while Acerenza came close to the bronze, mocked by a handful of centimeters in the final sprint by the Hungarian David Betlehem.
Also scheduled for today is the final of the men’s 4×100 relay in athletics, with Melluzzo, Jacobs, Desalu and Tortu chasing a medal, while the Italian men’s volleyball team is playing for bronze in the third-place match against the United States.
Sofia Raffaeli and Milena Baldassari are also in the finals of the all-around of rhythmic gymnastics.
