Paris 2024 Olympics: Italy’s medals live | August 7, 2024
Italy has won 26 medals so far at the Paris Olympics 2024: nine golds, ten silvers and seven bronzes. Today, Wednesday 7 August, there is great anticipation in particular for the debut on the platform of Gianmarco Tamberi, who arrived in the French capital despite the health problems of the last few days.
After the bronze won yesterday by Mattia Furlani in the long jump (the first medal for Italy in athletics at these Olympics), this evening all eyes will be on Roberta Bruni and Elisa Molinarolo, in the pole vault final, but also on Filippo Tortu and Fausto Desalu, on the track for the semi-finals of the men’s 200 meters, on Alessandro Sibilio, in the semi-finals of the 400 hurdles and on Lorenzo Simonelli, in the semi-finals of the 110 hurdles.
In the afternoon, a medal will be guaranteed for the Ruggero Tita-Caterina Banti pair in the mixed multihull (sailing) final.
Vito Dell’Aquila will also defend the gold he won in Tokyo in taekwondo. There is great anticipation for the finals of the men’s team pursuit (track cycling), the semi-final of Italy’s men’s volleyball against France and the quarter-finals of men’s water polo against Hungary.
