CC OO describes his proposal to remove it from textbooks as “idiocy”
Teachers, parents and unions have made common cause in the defense of inclusive language in response to the announcement by the Minister of Education (former Vox deputy) to remove it from textbooks. The educational community, with the exception of the Catholic Confederation of Parents of Students (Concapa) and the Sidi union, reproached María Isabel Campuzano for her announcement, which they described as “occurrence” and “stupidity.”
The Federation of Associations of Parents of Students (FAPA) criticized the “backwardness” against all the recommendations and norms, and regretted that the counselor “diverted attention from the problems of the public school with these debates,” said Clara García, who recalled that FAPA has scheduled an inclusive language workshop for families next Saturday, and remarked that “what is not named does not exist.”
Along the same lines, the president of the Association of Directors of Primary schools, Mariola Sanz, defended the “basic importance of inclusive language, it is very important for schoolchildren.”
For his part, the general secretary of the Federation for the Teaching of Workers’ Commissions, Nacho Tornel, regretted that “the counselor has given ample evidence of her absolute ignorance and has no authority. It would be better for you to get to work solving the many complex problems that are within your competence and that avoid your responsibility. It cannot be that the lady counselor is distracted and tries to distract us all with these nonsense; It is a lack of responsibility, which is not attributable to an ignorant person, but to the president of the Community.
