Parents of children who died from dumpling poisoning near Krasnoyarsk have come to their senses
Senior assistant to the head of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Krasnoyarsk Krai and the Republic of Khakassia Yulia Arbuzova reported that the parents of four children who died after a family dinner in the village of Krasnaya Sopka regained consciousness on the morning of September 23.
A 32-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man are in the Krasnoyarsk Interdistrict Clinical Hospital of Emergency Medical Care named after N.S. Karpovich. Their condition is being evaluated doctors as stable, close to satisfactory. Doctors have given permission to conduct investigative actions with the couple. They are currently being interrogated.
Children mixed up seasoning with toxin while cooking dumplings
A family of six was poisoned on Friday evening, September 20. They ate dumplings they bought at a local store. The next morning, the family members showed signs of food poisoning.
Three children – a six-year-old girl, an 11-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy – could not be saved. Later it became known about the death of a fourth child. The girl was 12 years old.
Their parents were admitted to intensive care and regained consciousness on the morning of September 23.
According to one version, the family could have been poisoned by food from the store, according to another, while cooking dumplings, one of the children added some toxin to the water, which has not yet been identified. Probably, the child confused the poison with spices.
During the inspection of the scene, pesticides for plants and antibiotics for livestock, which can be toxic to humans, were found and confiscated.
The man was the only one who managed to take the medicine.
According to investigators, the father of the children who became victims of an unknown toxin was the only one in the family who took the medicine when his health worsened.
It is also known that his wife is nine months pregnant. Preliminary, there is no threat to the baby’s life.

A case has been opened on the incident under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Sale of goods that do not meet life safety requirements”).
