The dispute for mayor of Rio de Janeiro is led by the mayor and pre-candidate for re-election Eduardo Paes (PSD), according to a survey by Genial, released this Tuesday, 18. According to the research institute, the current mayor is 51 % of voting intentions in the first round, in the stimulated survey.
Paes is followed by Delegado Ramagem (PL), who has 11%, Tarcísio Motta (PSOL), with 8%, Rodrigo Amorim (União), with 4% and Marcelo Queiroz (PP), with 2%.
According to the survey, 20% say they will vote blank or invalid or will not vote at all and 4% are undecided.
In a second round against Ramagem, Paes would win with a wide advantage, with 57% of the votes against 27% for the PL federal deputy. Undecided people account for 2% and blanks, null or not intending to vote, 14%
In the spontaneous survey, when the researcher does not indicate the names of the pre-candidates, Paes has 12%, Delegado Ramagem, 3%, other pre-candidates together 2%, undecided 81% and blank, null or do not intend to vote, 2% .
What could change the numbers a little, but without changing the general picture, would be the support.
According to the survey, while Paes is harmed by having the support of the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), Ramagem could reach a larger electorate with former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) at his side.
According to the survey, with the support, Paes would have 47% of the votes while Ramagem would close the gap, reaching 29% of voters.
The survey also measured the evaluation of Paes management, which is seen as positive by 35%, negative by 24%, and 38% consider it to be regular.
The research was commissioned by Rádio Tupi, from Rio de Janeiro, registered with the Electoral Court under number RJ-04459/2024. The collection was carried out between 13/06 and 16/06, with voters in Rio de Janeiro aged 16 or over. There were 1,145 face-to-face interviews and the estimated margin of error is 3 percentage points. The confidence level is 95%
