Senate President Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG) defended the presence of President Jair Bolsonaro in Russia, despite the global tension between that country and Ukraine.
In a press conference, Pacheco said that Bolsonaro needs to maintain a good relationship and a “high-level” discussion with the countries with which Brazil has trade relations, including Russia, despite the geopolitical conflicts.
“There is a unique moment in Russia in the face of this diplomatic problem between Russia and Ukraine, but overall, I consider it important that the President of the Republic, regardless of this circumstance, can represent Brazil well,” said Pacheco.
In an interview with EstadãoMinister Luiz Edson Fachin, who will assume the presidency of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), stated that the Electoral Justice “may already be under attack by hackers” and cited Russia as the origin of most of this offensive.
“Minister Fachin’s concern regarding these attacks is obviously pertinent and we all have to join together, as institutions, so that this does not happen”, said the Senate president, reinforcing confidence in the Electoral Justice and in the security of electronic voting machines.
