Qablo Repetto, coach of Atlético Nacional, left with bitter memories in the first classic he directed against Independiente Medellín, which ended 2-2, this Sunday, at the Atanasio Girardot stadium.
In the 90+1 minute, when trying to take a corner kick, Pablo Ceppellini, Nacional midfielder, was hit by a knife which was launched from the eastern stand, where the DIM fans were stationed.
That day, Roldán had to wait almost an hour after flares and rolls of paper were thrown in the south stand of the Deportivo Cali stadium. In addition, there were a couple of fights between fans of the local team.
Pablo Repetto's reaction to the attack on Ceppellini
“Highlight our players. If Cepellini shoots, the game has to be suspended and we win the points. Or not? We always wanted to play, right?” Repetto added.
“This was the sad thing about today, that it didn't happen to adults, but it can happen. The projectile limits you and intimidates you. I hope it doesn't happen again, that it is the party we experienced before,” she concluded.
There was already a similar precedent with the Medellín bars. On September 21, 2019, in a match against Millonarios, they also threw a knife at the blue captain, David Mackalister Silva. The player himself gave it to the referee, Carlos Ortega.
The club was punished by Dimayor, which closed the north stand of the Atanasio Girardot for two games and imposed a fine of 6.5 million pesos.
