Once again, as in 2020, those that are approaching will not be Winter Break typical, neither in the City nor in the rest of the country. While the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic seems to fade, and on alert for the possible arrival of the Delta variant, which shows greater contagiousness, the Buenos Aires government announced a series of activities with health protocols and at the same time it will intensify the strategy of tests for residents leaving the City and those entering.
The schedule of activities will be current from this Saturday until August 1. The objective is to prioritize the proposals in the open air, with distancing and mandatory use of the mask, in addition to compliance with the sanitary provisions that already apply in Buenos Aires.
For example, bars and restaurants maintain a maximum capacity of 30% in classrooms, in addition to having the use of tables on sidewalks, terraces and patios enabled. The same is true of the ability to theaters and cinemas. And also other establishments in the City whose activity takes place indoors.
Will be open museums, cultural centers and some of the rooms of the Buenos Aires Theater Complex. Also the Usina del Arte. In the Historic Center there will be outdoor activities and also virtual proposals. For his part, Planetary will reopen its doors with face-to-face and virtual educational activities. In both cases you have to reserve a place in www.planetario.gob.ar
There will also be recreational sports activities in sports halls and squares, and the Buenos Aires Corre program is still active, also in public spaces.
At the same time, and to try to contain potential cases of coronavirus infections, since Monday they work new testing centers. Three do no shift in tourist places and for walks. And two others are mobile. And several of those that are already working will join, with a previous shift.
As it happened with the Summer Vacation, the operation is intended for those who enter the City from other jurisdictions that are more than 150 kilometers, and also to the porteños who travel more than that distance during more than 72 hours.
Those who have to be tested should go to the designated centers. Then, the tests will be covered by social work and medical insurance, or by the City Government for those who do not have coverage. The results of the test will be informed between 12 and 24 hours through of the WhatsApp of the City, also known as Boti (+54 911 5050 0147).
Those who choose to go in turn, will have to request it in advance on the website of the Buenos Aires Government enabled: https://formulario-sigeci.buenosaires.gob.ar/InicioTramiteComun?idPrestacion=3565.
Unlike what happened in summer, when tests were carried out at the Ezeiza airport (Aeroparque was closed) and the Dellepiane bus terminal (Retiro did not operate either), this time there will be no swabs in those spaces for the circulation of travelers. There, on the other hand, there will be counselors from the Buenos Aires government who will provide information to those who arrive.
In the City, for the winter holidays, there are already non-shift testing centers.
There are five spaces to attend without a shift: three in the Tourist Attention Centers (CAT) in the Recoleta, Retiro and Palermo neighborhoods, where attention and service is also provided to tourists. They open from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The two mobile stands cover the main places where tourists move.
The Tourist Attention Centers are in Recoleta, Quintana 596; Retirement, Florida and Marcelo T. de Alvear; Y Palermo lakes, on Sarmiento and Figueroa Alcorta avenues (Enrique García Velloso Square).
