The filming process of The Orphan: First Kill, a prequel to the 2009 horror film, left its actors shocked with its development.
With Isabelle Fuhrman, now 24, giving life to Esther again, more than one wonders how the production will do to get the young woman to adapt to the age of her character, which would be bordering on 10 years. Julia Stiles, co-star of the film, shared details of this process.
In conversation with Collider, Stiles mentioned that she was amazed by the transformation of her partner, and highlighted that no computer animation (CGI) was used during the filming of The Orphan 2: First Kill to reduce Fuhrman’s age on screen.
“The remarkable thing about the film is that Isabelle repeats her role as the girl, of the same age, that we met in the first part. More than CGI, the director did camera tricks, the same ones that gave us different perspectives on her. Also, we must add the good work of costumes and prosthetics behind the character”, He explained. “Her performance is impressive, she embodies a girl from the way she talks to how she walks,” he added in an interview for the specialized portal.
The Orphan is a film that has earned a space between the classics of horror and drama films. Its plot introduced us to Esther (Isabelle Fuhrman), a mysterious girl adopted by a friendly family.
Everything changes when, in the house, she begins a campaign of manipulation and violence. The plot twist of the plot came when her best secret was revealed: she was a 30-year-old murderer.
Fuhrman was only 12 years old when he made the first original film, but he still managed to win over audiences with his performance. Now, at 24, she will reprise her role as Esther in a prequel set for a late 2021 or early 2022 release.
