Auction house Sotheby’s this week held the sale of the ‘Official Edition’ of the US Constitution and First Printing of the Final Text of the Constitution. The sale of the rare copy broke the record for a document at auction when it sold for about $43.2 million
The piece was bought by an unknown buyer, who won a crowdfunding offer from a group of cryptocurrencies.

The document is one of 13 original copies from 1787 and was sold for almost three times the initial price, as it was estimated at US$15 million, more than 260 times the value of US$165,000 obtained in its last sale, in 1988.
