The physiotherapist comes to my home after I had knee surgery. He is satisfied. Walking is already going well. We will now work on strengthening the strength in the operated leg. We talk about what I can and cannot do at the moment. I tell him that over the past week I have taken an average of 4,800 steps per day, with a maximum of 7,300. Out of the blue the physio asks: “Where are you from?” I answer: “Originally from The Hague.” To which he says with a burst of laughter: “I meant: how many steps before the operation?”
