The artificial intelligence company that owns Chatgpt, OpenAi, has formally rejected the purchase offer of 97.4 billion dollars (about 92.8 billion euros) presented by a group of investors headed by billionaire Elon Musk.
“Openai is not on sale and the Board has unanimously rejected the last attempt of Mr. Musk to disturb his competition. Any possible reorganization of OpenAI will strengthen our non -profit organization and its mission to ensure that artificial intelligence benefits all humanity, “said Openai president Bret Taylor.
Musk, who was OpenAi co -founder ten years agobefore launching a competitive artificial intelligence startup, brought together a group of wealthy allies to make a purchase offer of the organization’s assets. His lawyer, Marc Uberooff, presented the offer to the Board of Directors of OpenAI.
The offer was rejected by the executive director, Sam Altman, who in a brief phrase in the social network X wrote: “No, thanks, but we will buy Twitter for 9,740 million dollars if you want.”
Precisely, Musk filed a lawsuit against Openai and Altman last year alleging that the company’s founders had diverted themselves from the original mission of developing artificial intelligence for benefit of humanity.
At present, Openai remains a non -profit organization but immersed in a transition process towards a lucrative business model to, according to the company, ensure the necessary capital with the aim of developing best artificial intelligence models.
