Page 2 and page 3 of Il Fatto Quotidiano are dedicated, as often happens, to Matteo Renzi or to events that somehow touch him. It begins with the story of the investigation into the alleged illegal financing of Open, the foundation created to support the political initiatives of the former prime minister and leader of Italia Viva. Specifically, it is written that the investigations into alleged illicit financing also focused on the donations made by the entrepreneur Vincenzo Onorato and the shipping company Moby spa. Neither Onorato nor the top management of the shipping company are investigated but according to what is hypothesized in a financial report which ended in the proceedings of the investigation recently closed by the Florence prosecutor’s office, the contributions paid between November 2015 and July 2016 to the foundation by both Onorato and from the spa of which he was president, for a total of 300,000 euros, would have been aimed at consolidating relations with some political exponents of the Democratic Party, including the honorable Luca Lotti, deemed potentially useful to the interests of the group.
Renzi, how many absences from the Senate: he skips two sessions out of three
On page 3, on the other hand, Renzi’s absences from the Senate sessions are told, starting from what happened in recent days with his trip to Saudi Arabia during the vote on the Zan bill. According to Il Fatto, the leader of Italia Viva is among the least present at the classroom proceedings, boasting only 39 percent of voting participation (the source is Open Parliament). The rest, more than 6 out of 10 sessions, are missions (20 per cent) or truancy (41 per cent), whether for conferences around the world, international meetings or even presentations of his books.
