Two weeks to go return to solar time: on October 31st, all clocks will see their hands move back one hour, which will mean that the evening darkness will show up earlier than now. Consequently, road traffic will also fall into darkness. Opel has no intention of being caught unprepared for this scenario, as witnessed by many technological solutions which equip the models of the German car manufacturer and which allow drivers to enjoy extremely efficient lighting.
Starting with IntelliLux LED matrix technology for their headlights, by far superior to xenon or conventional systems: as soon as the car leaves the urban environment, thanks to this solution, the matrix headlights automatically switch to high beam, continuously adapting the beam and distribution of the light cone thanks to the individual LEDs that switch on and off in milliseconds. A technology that Opel itself defines brilliant, and that is why it is offered on all models in the brand’s range. In particular, the Insignia, Grandland and new Astra models go further, thanks to the system 2nd generation IntelliLux LED Pixel, composed of 168 LED elements divided between the two projectors. For even more precision and power.
On the Grandland SUV, the German car manufacturer has also decided to add the system Night Vision: it is a technological solution of military origin, with which an infrared camera detects people and animals between 50 and 100 meters away from the car in the direction of travel. The detection is carried out by measuring the temperature difference with respect to the surrounding environment, and alerts the driver by showing the position of the person or animal on the digital instrumentation where its shape in front of the vehicle is chromatically highlighted. This solution is available at a surcharge of 1,000 euros.
