In upload, however, the national average is 8.84 Mbps and sees the ranking overturn a little. Windtre always in first place with 10.59 Mbps, Vodafone in second with 9.03, TIM third with 8.45 and Iliad last with 6.73 Mbps. As regards latency, the national average is 37 ms and here too we overturn the ranking: first TIM with 29 ms , follows Vodafone with 33 ms, Windtre with 36 ms and last Iliad with 56 ms.
Ookla calculates the score by attributing 90% importance to download, 10% to upload and 0% to latency. While to calculate the download and upload value – considering that they vary a lot during the test – we take into account 10% of the tenth percentile, 80% of the fiftieth percentile (median) and 10% of the ninetieth percentile.
