An accident occurred on the M-5 highway near Ufa 6, as a result of which an overpass under construction collapsed – it was hooked by a passing truck. As a result, the truck driver died, traffic on the highway was completely blocked, Vladimir Sevastyanov, head of the traffic police department for Bashkiria, said on December 6 on his Telegram channel.
“The accident occurred at about 21:00 on the 1480th km of the Samara-Ufa-Chelyabinsk highway. According to preliminary data, the body of a Scania truck opened while driving, it caught on an overhead pedestrian crossing under construction, ”he wrote.
According to him, the metal structure of the elevated crossing collapsed, the driver died.
Sevastyanov also clarified that at present the traffic is completely blocked, a detour through Karpovo-Bazileevka is organized.
Emergency services are on the scene to deal with the aftermath of the collapse.
Earlier that day, it was reported about a collision of a VAZ-2109 car with a Renault tractor in Novosibirsk. The 18-year-old driver of the car and his 17-year-old passenger were killed.
