The greeting of the Buenos Aires Police officers to the former Minister of National Security and president of the PRO, Patricia Bullrich, which was recorded in a video released by the former official continues to generate controversy. Now, one of the police officers involved recorded a statement in which he raised a version that does not match the images that went viral.
The person in charge of breaking the silence was a uniformed man who identified himself as “Sergeant Lopez”, belonging to the direction of the Motorized Prevention Group (GPM) of the Superintendency of Special Operations of Buenos Aires.
He is the one who led the group of five policemen who on Friday entered a Villa Gesell confectionery to do the official training and salute Bullrich, a gesture that generated controversy but that the Buenos Aires Minister of Security, Sergio Berni, highlighted by respect”.
Sergeant López is the only one who spoke in the three-minute video that was broadcast on the channel’s “Intratables” program. America TV: “I requested authorization from my superiors to make use of my discharge by the same means by the one who was insulted and used politically“.
“We were covering ordinary service like every day in the downtown area of Villa Gesell,” said López and clarified that the superiors told him that that day the former minister would participate in a breakfast in a local downtown.
“We went to the place and I did the formation of the hand in front of the premises. Moments later we heard from passersby and vehicles who had very strong verbal injuries, that I cannot repeat because I am a gentleman and because Dr. Patricia Bullrich deserves a lot of respect, “said the officer.
For this reason, Sergeant López indicated that he decided to put his “subordinates on” alert for any eventuality that could happen in the place, given that people and passers-by were becoming a bit hostile in the presence of the doctor.
And he detailed how the entrance was and I greet Patricia Bullrich: “They signal us to enter the premises. Believing that there was an incident or someone had entered and could cause a problem, he trained my work team and we entered the premises “.
“When I was meeting the situation that everything was armed, they turned around, both the people and the cameras, began to applaud us and in such a situation we proceeded to do the right thing, as we were trained within the police institution: I know it. he formally greeted the inauguration of the former Minister of National Security at the time, “he added.
Sergeant López added: “When we realized that there was no incident, we proceeded to leave the premises and I notified my superiors of what had happened.”
However, in the video released by Bullrich, it was recorded how the police entered the premises after being introduced by one of the organizers of the event, in which Bullrich presented his book “Guerra sin Cuartel”.
“There are people who want to greet you”, says the moderator of the meeting over the loudspeakers and immediately the applause of the diners who accompany the entrance of the police officers is heard.
Followed, all of them enter in line and walk towards the center of the room, where they finally form before Bullrich and perform the official health with permission. The former minister was in charge of greeting each one with a clash of fists.
When the video became known, the Buenos Aires Minister of Government, María Teresa García, published on the networks that the troops “were already separated from the force” but shortly afterwards eliminated the text.
The version of Sergeant López is in line with the statements of the Buenos Aires Minister of Security, Sergio Berni, who said in Radius 10: “They used the Police, they tricked her into entering, they edited images. Ultimately, it is one more antics than (Bullrich) has us used to.”
