The Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6 of the 964 series from the action movie bad boys is engraved on the retina of many car enthusiasts. The super-fast sports car will be auctioned in January.
The 1995 film revolves around a theft of $100 million worth of heroin from the Miami Police Department. If the heroin is not recovered within 72 hours, the police station will be closed and all employees will lose their jobs. Detectives Mike Lowry (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) must solve the case.
Whale Tail
The means of transport of both detectives in the film is a Porsche 911 Turbo with a power of 360 hp. The 3.6 liter engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox and transfers its power to the rear axle via a differential lock. In addition to extended wheel arches, the Turbo is also equipped with a so-called ‘Whale Tail’ spoiler.
cassette radio
That this is the same car is confirmed by a certificate of authenticity from Porsche Cars North America. The car has done 34,396 miles (55,034 km) according to the description. The car belonged to two directors of the film, among others, and won several awards at Meetings and Concours d’Elegances between 2014 and 2017 and now belongs to a Frenchman. The gloss black car features Speedline wheels, a black leather interior, air conditioning, a cassette radio and a sunroof.
Jenson Button
The movie car will be auctioned in January in Kissimmee by auction house Mecum. No estimate has yet been made of the sales price, but a standard 3.6 Turbo quickly costs more than 150,000 euros. The fact that a film car or a car from a well-known previous owner provides added value is apparent from the almost 370,000 euros that the Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6 of former F1 driver Jenson Button raised two months ago. There is therefore a good chance that this model will go far beyond that.
