The initiative promoted by Eikon Strategic Consulting Italia Società Benefit and Eversana, with the unconditional support of the MSD Foundation and the partnership of the SS University Hospital, is called ‘One Health Project – Schools in Action’. Antonio e Biagio and Cesare Arrigo of Alessandria, which aims to involve, for the first time, in a widespread manner, Italian high schools in the reflection on One Health. The final event on the project – which will be held on 3 June in Rome, at 11.30 at the Sala del Refettorio in via del Seminario 76 – will be an opportunity to talk about the commitment of the schools and stimulate a moment of discussion on a crucial topic of public health that concerns each of us.
In the 2023-24 school year One Health Project – Schools in Action involved around 1,600 students throughout the national territory in a playful and educational experience in the classroom (game-based learning) inspired by Italo’s ‘Il castello dei destini crossedi’ Calvin. The initiative, in which 18 patient associations participated as collaborating partners – explains a note – is sponsored by Asvis (Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development) and Anmvi (National Association of Italian Veterinary Doctors).
The following will participate in the final event on 3 June: the Honorable Ilenia Malavasi, Social Affairs Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, One Health Parliamentary Intergroup; Senator Elena Murelli, Senate Social Affairs Commission, One Health Parliamentary Intergroup; Goffredo Freddi, director of the MSD Foundation; Carla Collicelli, welfare and health sociologist and contact person for Objective 3 ‘Health and well-being’ of Asvis; Marco Melosi, president of Anmvi, and Marinella Bertolotti, head of Epidemiology and director of the Asbestos Health Centre, Aou SS. Antonio and Biagio and Cesare Arrigo of Alessandria. The conclusions are entrusted to Giovanni Leonardi, head of the Human Health, Animal Health and Ecosystem One Health and International Relations Department. Presenting the project: Lorenzo Micheli, Campobase; Cristina Cenci, Eikon Strategic Consulting Italia Benefit Company, and Antonietta Pannella, Eversana. Delegations from the schools selected for the One Health – One Game initiative will also be present, together with a delegation of patient associations with: Sandra Frateiacci, president of Alma-Aps Association Free from Asthma, Allergic, Atopic, Respiratory and Rare Diseases, and Rosario Galipò, coordinator of the Anlaids national school project.
