A man has died and two others have been wounded by gunshots, one of them very seriously by a shot in the skull, in a shootout between drug traffickers that occurred this Saturday night in Cartagena (Murcia). According to police sources and others close to the events, the event occurred around 9:25 p.m. on Alcalde Estanislao Rolandi street, in an area known as Las 600, where a man was wounded in the head when he fired from the street at two others who were in the inside a house where drugs were sold.
One of them died on the spot and the other, wounded, barricaded himself in the bathroom until, after several hours, a National Police negotiator managed to get him to denounce his attitude and turn himself in at around 11:45 p.m.
At that time, he was arrested and transferred to the Santa Lucía hospital in the town. Witnesses to the event have affirmed that at that time of night they heard shots and saw how in the buildings in the area the neighbors turned off the lights and closed the windows of their homes, while the people who were in the street fled to another area.
It was difficult for the 061 toilets who went to the scene to stabilize the injured man in critical condition, although they finally managed to do so and transferred him to the same hospital after midnight. In their first investigations, the Police pointed out that the cause of the shooting was a settling of accounts between traffickers.
