As of 2:01 am (Eastern time) on Monday (6), the United States will require all foreign passengers aged two years and over who travel to the country to have a negative Covid viral test result. 19 done within one day before the trip, or present documentation proving recovery from coronavirus infection within 90 days prior to departure.
The passenger must have a negative antigen or PCR test. Previously, the requirement was to submit a negative test within three days before boarding.
According to the US Embassy in Brazil, establishing a one-day period, the acceptability of the test does not depend on the time of flight or the time of day the test was performed. For example, if the flight is at 1:00 pm on a Friday, the passenger can board with a negative test taken any time on Thursday.
In addition, the embassy informed that the vaccination requirements adopted in November are still valid: people over 18 years old must be fully vaccinated with one of the immunizers used in the USA or approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) – that is, the vaccines from Moderna, Pfizer/BioNTech, Janssen, Oxford/Astrazeneca, Covishield, Covaxin, Sinopharm, Coronavac or Sinovac.
Children and adolescents up to 17 years of age do not need to present proof of vaccination, but must have a negative Covid-19 test.
