The pre-campaign of corn is progressing in a promising scenario and DONMARIO follows the evolution of prices and the progress of the sale of inputs with the launch of new products, completing its portfolio of hybrids.
The flagship brand of the GDM group, conducts tests in more than 70 locations of its DMMAS Network each campaign with the aim of identify productive gaps existing and approach them from 3 fundamental pillars: genetic improvement, agronomic practices and understanding of the environment.
“Knowing how far we are from the maximum achievable in each region is what is known as the yield gap and provides an idea of the possibilities to increase them through agronomic management and genetics,” says Jerónimo Costanzi, GDM Development Manager.
According to Costanzi, “analyzing the results of the last campaign, a yield gap between the average yields and the maximum explored in each region ranging from 15 to 25% with respect to the best combination of genetics, management and environment ”.
With focus on research and development, investments and strategic alliances, DONMARIO works to comply with the 5 fundamental selection parameters: yield, technologies, stability and adaptability, health profile and agronomic characteristics.
Making an adequate selection of hybrids to have a competitive portfolio of products and technologies, providing information for an adequate and correct positioning in each of the corn regions and meeting the needs and demands of farmers continues to be the focus of the teams’ work. of DONMARIO in each campaign.
Options for 2021
The brand has 7 commercial hybrids, 3 of them are 2021 launches.
Betting on different technologies, DONMARIO presents a new material with very high performance potential with VT3PRO technology: DM 2773 VT3P, positioned to seek the greatest potentials, with an excellent sanitary and agronomic profile.
Santiago Santamarina, manager of the brand, says that “this launch will allow us to position ourselves in the different corn-producing regions with a material of outstanding performance on early and late planting dates”.
Likewise, 2 new products with excellent performance and stability potential, very good sanitary performance and Viptera3 technology are added to the portfolio: DM 2785 VIP3 and DM 2789 VIP3 with wide adaptability of areas and environments.
They complete the portfolio DM 2738 MGRR2 that stands out for its drying speed and its combination between yield and stability, DM 2742 MGRR2 recommended for medium productivity plants with excellent sanitary profile, DM 2771 VT3P for late sowings with excellent behavior to blight and CRM and DM 2772 VT3P with excellent balance between stability and yield potential, adaptable to different planting dates throughout the corn region.
“Our goal is to have products that stand out in performance, with a good agronomic profile and a wide choice of technologies, so that producers that incorporate high and medium levels of technology choose DONMARIO materials. Additionally, we develop multiple lines of work to complement our hybrids with excellent positioning. This campaign we launched two hybrids with Viptera3 technology and the DM2773 VT3P hybrid, which showed very good results in different test networks ”, explains Santamarina.
