Light at the end of the tunnel? Among the scientific community more and more voices point to that hope. The arrival of the Omicron variant, which has brought exponential spikes in infections, together with the increase in vaccination in many countries, has led us to think that this could be the wave that marks the end of the pandemic.
If a large part of the population creates defenses against the virus, the world would leave the pandemic to enter what is known as an endemic. That is, when a disease becomes part of the daily life of citizens with controlled or sectorized contagion peaks and ceases to be a threat to millions of people. Does this mean changing the protocols to adapt them to a new reality? We analyze it in this edition of Escala en Paris from the hand of our guests:
– Florencia Ángeles, correspondent for W radio in France.
– Juana Torres Cierpe, sociologist, doctor in political science and researcher of the DIPLAB project.
– And in duplex we are accompanied by Nicolás Gutiérrez Melo, microbiologist and researcher in immunology at the Bonn University Hospital in Germany.
