Half of the monthly rainfall may fall in Moscow on Monday, September 19. Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, spoke about this on Sunday, September 18.
In conversation with TASS the specialist noted that in some areas of the capital, more than 30 ml of precipitation may fall before noon on Monday. Very heavy rain is expected in places, “in some places it will not just be heavy rain, but heavy rain.”
According to Vilfand, the monthly norm of precipitation in September for the capital is 65 mm.
He added that on September 19 the air temperature will be +11…+14 degrees, notes NSN. In the coming days, according to the weatherman, cloudy and cool weather will continue.
In conversation with RT Vilfand said that no significant precipitation is expected in the second half of the week, the temperature will be close to normal.
Earlier, a warning about strong wind, rain, hail and wind intensification up to 22-25 m/s was issued in the capital’s Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation. Drivers were advised to slow down and increase the distance, to avoid sudden maneuvers – rebuilding and overtaking. Pedestrians, while on the street, were advised to bypass billboards and rickety structures, as well as not to take shelter from the weather under trees.
