In implementation of its noble humanitarian policy based on keeping pace with and achieving the aspirations of the wise leadership in the field of charitable humanitarian work, the “Make-A-Wish” Foundation fulfilled the wishes of 21 sick children from Gaza who are hosted by the UAE, in cooperation with the “Emirates Humanitarian City”.
The wishes were fulfilled in a celebration held in the Humanitarian City, which featured beloved cartoon characters, magic shows, and a wonderful selection of food and sweets. The celebration was attended by Mubarak Al-Qahtani, the official spokesperson for the Emirates Humanitarian City, and media professionals Maysoun Azzam and Rana Al-Khatib, who participated in fulfilling the children’s wishes with the Foundation’s work team, as well as a crowd of Gazan children and their families.
On this occasion, Mubarak Al Qahtani, the official spokesperson for the Emirates Humanitarian City, said: “In this meeting, we are not only fulfilling their wishes, but also affirming the UAE’s commitment to humanity, compassion, and shared responsibility. The UAE has always been a beacon of humanitarian efforts, and we are proud that our country’s vision is fundamentally based on the belief that every child, regardless of their circumstances, has the right to hope, dignity, and the opportunity to succeed.”
In turn, the children of Gaza and their mothers expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the UAE for its generous hospitality and for providing them with the security and safety they need during this difficult period their country is going through. They also extended their thanks and appreciation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the organizers of the Emirates Humanitarian City for giving them moments of joy and happiness by fulfilling their wishes.
For his part, Hani Al Zubaidi, CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, stated: “Embodying the UAE’s steadfast humanitarian approach to standing by our brothers and extending a helping hand to them, we were keen to fulfill the wishes of these children who are in dire need of alleviating their humanitarian and health suffering, to light the candle of hope and optimism in their hearts in light of the critical circumstances their country is going through, and to grant them the happiness they have always dreamed of. We are pleased to be able to support the country’s efforts to alleviate the humanitarian suffering they are going through, and to renew their hopes of having a normal life in their second country, the UAE.”
Hani Al-Zubaidi expressed his thanks, appreciation and gratitude to those in charge of the humanitarian city that hosts patients coming from the Gaza Strip, and is keen to provide integrated services and exceptional care for everyone without discrimination, stressing that the solidarity of all governmental and private bodies and institutions in this regard clearly highlights the UAE’s leadership in the field of charitable humanitarian work based on the love of good for all, and its efforts to achieve security, safety and happiness for people in all parts of the world.
It is worth noting that the children’s wishes varied between obtaining the latest advanced electronic devices, an electric car, and a gold set for one of the girls.
