Brazilian Alison dos Santos won the bronze medal in the 400 meter (m) hurdles event at the Tokyo Olympics (Japan), on Monday night (2) at the Olympic Stadium.

This was the first athletics medal in Brazil in the current edition of the Olympic Games. The 21-year-old from São Paulo set an incredible time of 46s72, breaking the South American record and lowering the 47-second mark for the first time.
The gold went to the Norwegian Karsten Warholm, who broke the world record by closing the race, for the first in history, in less than 46 seconds (45s94). The American Rai Benjamin took the silver with the mark of 46s17.
