Olympic Games German Anti-Doping Agency Urges German Athletes to Avoid Chinese Meat Due to Doping Threat

According to the German anti-doping agency Nada, athletes may unknowingly get a clenbuterol steroid in their body.

German anti-doping agency Nada sent a strong message to German athletes leaving for the Beijing Olympics on Monday, urging them to avoid eating Chinese meat for fear of a doping offense, AFP news agency reported.

Nada fears that athletes may unknowingly eat clenbuterol steroid with the meat, which Nada says is used to raise pigs and calves before slaughter.

“Eating meat should be avoided, and options should be discussed with a nutritionist,” Nada said Monday.

Anti-doping agencies have previously warned that Clenbuterol could end up in humans from meat produced in China, although no such cases have been reported recently.

Finland According to the Sports Ethics Center, Clenbuterol belongs to the category of anabolic substances.

“It has an anabolic effect that has been shown to increase the protein content of striated muscles while burning glycogen and fat in the body. These include tremors, palpitations, arrhythmias, muscle cramps and electrolyte disturbances, which can lead to death if left untreated. ”

As a doping agent, Clenbuterol rose to the news as a Spanish cycling champion Alberto Contador grumbled about doping in the 2010 France Tour.

The Spaniard always claimed to have received Clenbuterol in his body after eating meat purchased from Spain.

However, Contador was banned from competition and lost, among other things, the 2010 victory over the French tour and the 2011 victory over the Giro d’Italia.
