Freestyle competing in halfpipe Jon Sallinen will be the last Finnish athlete to start his competition at the Beijing Olympics.

Sallinen will compete in the halfpipe qualifier from 6.30. 12 skiers will enter the final competition. Sallinen thinks he is among the finalists in the basic bill.

“As long as I can count it cleanly, it should be easy enough for the final,” he says in a press release from the Finnish Olympic Committee.

The combined has a team hill in the program. Finland will start the race with a team starting at 10 am Ilkka Herola, Arttu Mäkiaho, Perttu Reponen and Eero Hirvonen.

Jenni Saarinen continues his competitions in the free figure skating program, which starts at 12 noon. Saarinen finished 25th in the short program.

Skiing the Olympic silver in the sprint post on Wednesday Iivo Niskanen and Joni Mäki will receive medals around their necks in the awards ceremony starting at 1:50 p.m.
