Genoa – The EcoEridania Insuperabili Foundation has started the first edition of the EcoEridania Cup, a football tournament which takes its name from the Group to which the Foundation is linked and which was created with charitable purposes. An event dedicated to sport, fun and inclusion, sponsored by the FIGC and dedicated to the Ligurian teams of the FIGC DCPS circuit. The President of the EcoEridania Group spoke during the tournament Andrea Giustini “I am very proud to be here for several reasons but especially because we continue to support inclusion. Today the best Ligurian teams will face each other but we are confident of bringing all this abroad too.” The beautiful location of the Pio XII – G. Signorini Sports Center in Genoa Pegli, the heart and headquarters of Genoa FC, provides the backdrop for the tournament. “It is a great pleasure to host such an event in our sports center. It was incredible to see the determination seen on the pitch today”, Flavio Ricciardella, corporate general manager of Genoa FC).
The six teams involved competed in two triangular games. The first – of the II level FIGC DCPS – saw the participation of Insuperabili Genova, Città di Savona and Polisportiva la Spezzina. The second triangular tournament – of the III level FIGC DCPS – was played by Genoa FC, Sampdoria and BIC Genova. The six exciting matches were enriched not only by many goals but also by the public who enlivened the beautiful day even more, as well as by the institutional visits that followed between one match and another.

A day that has the ambition of being only the first step of a fixed appointment in the seasonal calendar of the Ligurian teams. Caterina Giustini, Communication Manager of the EcoEridania Group “we are proud to have promoted this initiative for the first year but we intend to continue in the coming years.”
The first edition of the EcoEridania Cup was organized in support of the Gigi Ghirotti Genova ETS Foundation, a reality of excellence in the Genoa area that deals with social and healthcare assistance for people in need of palliative care, at home and in two hospices. Professor Henriquet, president and founder of the Gigi Ghirotti foundation, also spoke during the event: “Thanks to all the teams, to the promoters of the initiative Andrea and Caterina Giustini.
