Nutritionist Durdane Keskiner spoke about how you can reduce cholesterol levels without medication. It is reported by newspaper Sözcü.
According to her, there are two types of cholesterol, “good” (HDL) and “bad” (LDL), which must be balanced in the body. In order to reduce the level of LDL, the expert advises to exercise regularly and eat right.
Keskiner explained that unsaturated fats should be preferred over saturated fats and overall consumption should be reduced. You should also avoid hard fats such as margarine and lard. In addition, you should not eat fatty meats, sausages and fast food, and you should choose low-fat dairy products, she added.
At the same time, the specialist recommends regularly eating oat bran, nuts, fish, apples, garlic, onions. Grapefruits, apples, pears, olive oil and teas are also good for lowering bad cholesterol, she says.

According to Smithson, almonds are able to prolong the youthfulness of the skin by slowing down the aging process. The expert added that almonds also help burn belly fat and reduce the risk of metabolic syndrome, which increases the likelihood of heart disease and diabetes. Eating almonds is good for the heart as it lowers blood cholesterol levels.
