Nutritionist and nutritionist Yulia Bobeyka, in an interview with Moslenta, named the most common mistakes of people who observe Great Lent, which began this year on Monday, March 7.
The main mistake at this time is an incorrectly found replacement for important nutrients excluded from the diet. Instead of building a balanced diet, fasting people often prefer to eat fast carbohydrates. It can be, for example, lean drying, gingerbread and other pastries, which give saturation to the body only for a short time.
“It is important not only to remove the source of nutrients, but also to give it a competent replacement. What I see in practice is that people remove animal protein and fat, which means that the amount of time for a person to become satiated decreases, since fat and animal protein prolong satiety, ”she notes.
In this regard, fasting people can gain an average of about three extra pounds if they do not follow the right diet. Instead of increasing the amount of fast carbohydrates in the diet, the expert recommends giving preference to foods high in vegetable protein and fat. These are nuts and seeds, cereals, avocados, legumes and others.
