Nutrition | Many health problems would disappear if Finns dared to eat more carbohydrates

A low intake of carbohydrates may appear as sudden fatigue and lack of energy, i.e. completely similar symptoms, which many people blame on eating carbohydrates.

Niina Kaartinen, a researcher specializing in carbohydrates, has noticed that there are harmful attitudes about the subject. It's time to correct the wrong beliefs and talk about vital nutrients in a more positive way. Maybe then Finns would finally start eating enough carbs.

Carbohydrates bloat, tire and make your stomach hurt – and don't even keep hunger at bay. Such a reputation for vital carbohydrates is still in the minds of many.

At the same time, the vast majority of Finns get little carbohydrates in their diet compared to the recommendations, according to the national FinRavinto studies that investigated the nutrition of Finns.
