Candidates in São Paulo focused criticism on the mayor; Tabata goes after Boulos, who regrets the deputy’s “tone”
The main candidates for Mayor of São Paulo began the debate on the TV Globo this Thursday (October 3, 2024) without offenses and personal attacks – a different script than previous debates.
The businessman Pablo Marcal (PRTB) changed the tone and took advantage of the time on open television to give the São Paulo voter an image of being “more considered”. On the other hand, the deputy Tabata Amaral (PSB) was the most “offensive” and led the criticism of the mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB) in the 1st block. Then, he started attacking the deputy Guilherme Boulos (Psol).
“Very easy to criticize”said the mayor, after receiving criticism about the current management.
“This mayor is too small”replied Tabata, who received in response from Nunes that “nNo need to offend”.
Tabata states that on the eve of the election, Boulos started to review his positions, which “everyone is very cute, behaving in this debate”so that they did not behave in the last few.
From the 3rd block onwards, the tone rose. Boulos stated that he was surprised by Marçal’s stance and that the former coach is “wolf in sheep’s clothing”. “Everything was going so well, Boulos. Do you want to be funny?”replied the businessman.

Survey Datafolha released this Thursday (October 3, 2024) shows that the federal deputy Guilherme Boulos (Psol) is technically tied with the current mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes (MDB) and with the businessman Pablo Marcal (PRTB) in the dispute for mayor of São Paulo. Boulos has 26%. Marçal and Nunes, 24%.
It also shows that Nunes would defeat both Marçal and Boulos in a possible 2nd round.
The survey was carried out by Datafolha from October 1st to 3rd, 2024. 1,806 people aged 16 or over were interviewed in São Paulo (SP). The confidence interval is 95%. The margin of error is 2 percentage points, plus or minus. The survey is registered with the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) under number SP-09329/2024.
According to Datafolha, the cost of the study was R$143,634.40. The amount was paid by TV Globo.
