The number of detainees in the West Bank has risen to 9,750 since October 7, 2023, after the Israeli army arrested 26 Palestinians during the past two days.
The Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club said in a joint statement that “the Israeli occupation forces have arrested more than 9,750 Palestinians from the West Bank, including Jerusalem, since the beginning of the ongoing war and comprehensive aggression against our people.”
According to the two institutions, “the occupation forces arrested at least 26 Palestinians from the West Bank during the past two days. The arrests included physical assaults and threats against the detainees and their families, in addition to widespread acts of vandalism and destruction in the detainees’ homes.”
In conjunction with the devastating war on Gaza that has been ongoing since October 7, settlers have escalated their attacks, while the Israeli army has expanded its operations in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, leaving 578 dead and about 5,400 wounded, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
