In 2012 Lotus was at the starting line of the 2012 season with a very interesting couple of drivers. The first guide was the returning Kimi Raikkonen, ready to dive back into the Circus after two years of absence in which he tried to compete in the World Rally. Alongside the world champion with Ferrari in 2007 Eric Boullier chose Romain Grosjean, ready for the first full season in F1 after the tasting in 2009 and the conquest of the GP2 title obtained in 2011 at the wheel of a Dallara prepared by the DAMS team. The Genevan was also strong with the full support of Total, sponsor of the Lotus team. You can also roulette your favourite matches and players at https://nationalcasino.com/live-casino
Host of the Australian podcast ‘In the Fast Lane’ Romain Grosjean recalled the welcome message received from Kimi Raikkonen. “Let’s say the exact opposite of his long career – joked the future driver Andretti in Indycar – Kimi always got straight to the point. His message that he sent me at the end read like this: ‘I’m happy for you, let’s make sure there is no bullshit between us, See you soon'”. The two-year period in Lotus was more than satisfactory for both of them, even if the team lacked the financial resources to make the definitive leap in quality and thus dream of seriously annoying battleships such as Red Bull, Ferrari, McLaren and Mercedes.
Grosjean points out however that Raikkonen was one of the best F1 drivers of the last 20 years: “Especially in recent years he hasn’t had a car up to par – added Grosjean – but Kimi has been one of the best riders of the last twenty years and has always achieved the best available ”.
