I have stumbled over the same stone again. I don’t learn. During the beginning of the pandemic I thought that politicians, focused on the humanitarian emergency, They would forget the political consequences of their actions and dedicate themselves to helping citizens in the best way possible. without considering the consequences. I expected a political parenthesis for the benefit of the administration. I thought that politics would be stopped for a few weeks and then, once the crisis was over, the appropriate responsibilities would be sought.
I have once again been naive with the misfortune of Valencia. I confess that I had some hope. The dead of the pandemic are still blamed without much shame. What could I expect? I admit that I have regained confidence that we citizens would not pay the harsh toll that the regional government and the central government entail being of different political stripes. I thought that they would not spare any paperwork, that they would give everything, that they would be fast and diligent. I’m that stupid.
I expected a political parenthesis for the benefit of the administration.
Looking at any social network these days is a very hard blow to reality. It seems that the quagmire is double and with one we have enough. The happy battle for the story for electoral purposes wants to eat everything up and the only story that should interest us all is that of help people who have been left with nothingto those who still have missing relatives and to those who require support to get ahead.
It would be interesting to keep some silence in the coming days to let everyone do their job and so that those who have to direct this catastrophe can focus on their work. Spanish society has to calmly approach a debate about the effectiveness of politics and about the ever-growing distance that is opening up between the people and their leaders. The famous saying that politics is a reflection of society may deserve a review.
Being demanding, keeping quiet a little, letting those who know work work, helping to the best of our ability and taking an example from people who carry out noble, good and sometimes heroic actions, is the best thing we can do. There are more good people than bad. We will have time to look for those responsible. Now we’re looking for bodies. We will have to be careful that they do not spoil it even more because they are very capable of doing so, and that they insert the story wherever it fits.
