Launched in the Sea of Japan, it represents a new challenge for Kim Jong Un’s regime
The North Korean Armed Forces have fired this Saturday a new projectile into the East Sea -also known as the Sea of Japan-, in a new challenge in which, according to South Korean sources, the Kim Jong Un regime has tested a missile ballistic from a submarine.
The South Korean military has confirmed the launch, the 15th so far this year, according to the Yonhap news agency. It adds to the launch of another missile carried out last Wednesday and comes amid international fear of a possible imminent nuclear test.
The Japanese government has also denounced the latest North Korean launch, which it attributes, like Seoul, to a ballistic missile, reports the Kiodo agency.
The resolutions adopted by the United Nations prevent the Kim Jong Un regime from carrying out this type of test and, on this occasion, the releases precede a visit this month by the president of the United States, Joe Biden, and the inauguration of the new South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, which will take place on Tuesday.
